Special Election

Virginia has scheduled a special election on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 for voters to decide on a proposed amendment to the Virginia Constitution.

  • Polls are open 6 AM to 7 PM.
  • Anyone in line at 7 PM will be allowed to vote.
What’s on the ballot

🔴 Ballot Question: "Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia's standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?" (vote: YES or NO)

  • Mar 6 through April 18 — Early voting in person
  • Friday, April 10 — Last day to apply for a ballot to be mailed to you
  • Friday, April 14 — Last day to register or update your registration and vote a regular ballot
  • Tuesday, April 21 — Election Day
