As the laptop assistant, you would attend all eight Tuesday programs in February and March, arriving at about 9:15 a.m. and staying until approximately noon.
What you would do:
• Bring your laptop to each session.
• Place it on the podium and use it to connect to the Great Decisions Zoom meeting.
• With help from the Great Decisions team, get the Zoom connection set up for the presenter.
• Once everything is running, take a seat in the audience and enjoy the program.
During the presentation, your laptop would remain on the podium as the on-site computer for the Zoom connection. You would not need to sit with it or monitor the Zoom audience. Another volunteer will manage the Zoom session remotely.
You do not need to be a technology expert. We are mainly looking for someone who can bring a laptop and be there consistently for the series. Before Great Decisions begins, we will hold practice sessions and go over the setup and procedures with you so you are comfortable with the role.
The programs are held at Williamsburg Unitarian Universalists (3051 Ironbound Road, near Clara Byrd Baker Elementary School). The lecture presentation runs from 10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
