Women's Equal Pay Day

About this event

Equal Pay Day
Equal Pay Days

Equal Pay Days highlight the ongoing differences in earnings between women and men and the factors that contribute to those gaps. Each observance focuses on how these disparities affect different groups and underscores the importance of continued attention, policy efforts, and workplace change.

Equal Pay Day (March 26, 2026): Equal Pay Day marks how far into the year women must work to match what men earned in the previous year. Current data shows women earn about 81% of men’s pay in full-time work, and about 76% when all workers are included.

Asian American Women’s Equal Pay Day (April 9): Asian American women, on average, earn about 96% of white men’s earnings in full-time work and about 85% across all workers. Broad averages can mask significant differences among communities.

LGBTQIA+ Equal Pay Awareness Day (June 17): Comprehensive wage data for LGBTQIA+ individuals remains limited because federal data collection is still incomplete. Expanding data efforts is key to understanding disparities.

Black Women’s Equal Pay Day (July 21): Black women earn roughly 65% of what white men earn in full-time work and about 63% across all workers. This reflects ongoing inequities in pay and opportunity.

Mothers’ Equal Pay Day (August 6): Mothers working full-time earn about 74% of what fathers earn, and about 64% when all workers are included. Caregiving demands and workplace structures contribute to this gap.

Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Women’s Equal Pay Day (September 15): NHPI women earn about 67% of white men’s earnings in full-time work and around 59% overall. These disparities are often underrepresented in national data.

Latina Equal Pay Day (October 8): Latinas earn about 58% of white men’s earnings in full-time roles and about 54% across all workers. Structural and occupational factors contribute to this wide gap.

Disability Equal Pay Day (October 10): Disabled women earn about 68% of non-disabled men’s earnings in full-time work and roughly 56% overall. Barriers to employment and advancement remain significant.

Native Women’s Equal Pay Day (November 19): Native women earn approximately 58% of white men’s earnings in full-time work and about 53% overall. These figures highlight persistent economic inequities affecting Indigenous communities.
