About this event

The League of Women Voters of the Williamsburg Area, the York-James City-Williamsburg NAACP, and the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy (VICPP) are  hosting We the People Unite for Democracy: Come Meet the Candidates for legislative candidates running for State Senate and House of Delegates. The event is Thursday September 21 from 6-8 PM at the Williamsburg Regional Library Auditorium.


We have invited the candidates for:

  • Senate District 24: J.D. Diggs (R) and Monty Mason (D)
  • Senate District 26: Pamela Garner (D) and Ryan McDougle (R)
  • House District 71: Jessica Anderson (D) and Amanda Batten (R)
Democrats Monty Mason, Pamela Garner, and Pamela Anderson have accepted.
Republicans Danny Diggs, Ryan McDougle, and Amanda Batten declined the invitation.

Format

Denise Harrington, League of Women Voters state director, will introduce the candidates. Each candidate will have five minutes to address the audience. Then candidates will go to the Schell room and lobby to talk with voters and take questions.
