LWV of Williamsburg Area Annual Meeting
About this event
This is an annual and important meeting where League Members elect new members to the Board of Directors, approve the upcoming budget, and review our local League positions and programs.
We need a quorum to conduct business. Your attendance is important!
The meeting begins promptly at 4 PM at Legacy Hall with a 30-minute business portion, followed by our guest panel of 3 speakers.
Light refreshments will be served.
About Our Panel
(1) Dianna Moorman - James City County Office of Elections, Director of Elections and General Registrar
Dianna Moorman is originally from Texas where she began her career as a Complaint Resolution Official in the airline industry. After moving to Virginia in 2000 and being impacted by Sept. 11, she switched career paths into the world of elections in early 2005. Dianna has worked her way up the ranks through multiple positions and was ultimately appointed as the Director of Elections and General Registrar for James City County, Virginia in January 2016, where she continues to serve. Dianna has served in multiple elected positions within the Voter Registrar’s Assoc. of Virginia and currently serves on multiple committees and panels on the local, state, and federal levels.
(2) Lauren Zuravnsky
Chief of Design & Construction at Hampton Roads Sanitation District (HRSD).
She is responsible for planning and delivering $3 Billion of infrastructure projects to implement HRSD’s innovative Sustainable Water Initiate for Tomorrow (SWIFT) program. Prior to joining HRSD, Lauren worked for 10 years as a consulting engineer and project manager in Richmond, VA and NYC. She has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Villanova University and a Master’s from Virginia Tech. Lauren currently resides in an old home in Norfolk, VA with her husband and two kids
(3) Chad Stewart
Chad Stewart is a policy analyst with the Virginia Education Association and focuses on state budget and K-12 research. Chad helped found and continues to coordinate with the largest K-12 advocacy coalition in Virginia, Fund Our Schools, and previously worked as the education manager at The Commonwealth Institute for Fiscal Analysis, a public policy think tank, and as a middle school math teacher in Detroit, Michigan. Chad is passionate about advancing just and equitable education funding through the state budget so that all Virginia students have the resources and support they need to thrive.
