MOBILE APP

Mobile App

A new FREE mobile app for our LWV of Williamsburg website created by our partner ClubExpress is available to download on both Apple and Google stores. To begin, download the ClubExpress App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Once installed, open the ClubExpress app and log in with the same email address and Password that you use to login to our LWV of Williamsburg website. Once logged in, you can browse the League website as you would on any device.

FEDERAL JUDICIARY STUDY

LWVUS Federal Judiciary Study

At the 2024 LWVUS Convention members voted overwhelmingly to study the federal judiciary as an essential component of US democracy. The study will be completed in just one year, with the final position set to be announced at LWVUS Council in June 2025. The study addresses concerns about judicial accountability, transparency, independence and ethics of the US Supreme Court as well as the other Article III federal courts.

Nationwide, Leagues, including ours, are participating in this relevant and timely study by holding consensus meetings this spring.

Every year during the General Assembly session, LWV of Virginia organizes nonpartisan forums open to our members and the public to discuss and share information on issues and legislation. We invite Legislators to discuss bills they are sponsoring and answer questions.

LEAGUE DAY

Ten members of the LWV of Williamsburg went to League Day in Richmond on January 22, 2025. We visited our local legislators including Senator McDougle and Senator Mamie Locke. We didn't always meet our elected legislators face-to-face, but we had productive interactions with aides and staff! (not all attending members are in this photo)

KUDOS TO VOTER SERVICES

Our Intrepid Team

Our local League Voter Services leaders, Maryann Simpson and Denise Koch, organize numerous voter registration events and candidate forums. In 2024, Voter Services volunteers went to over 100 events where they provided information about voter registration and voter rights and made at least 1,600 contacts.

Many voting services events will be scheduled in 2025!
