There’s Still Time to Write Postcards to Virginia Voters

Encourage participation in Virginia’s November 3 General Election by writing nonpartisan get-out-the-vote postcards to Black voters and other voters of color across Virginia.

Sign up to write 30 or more postcards. The project supplies postcards, voter names and addresses, registrar information, and the approved script, so getting started is simple. All you provide is your time and postcard stamps.

About the Project

Reclaim Our Vote, a campaign of the Center for Common Ground, organizes this nonpartisan voter-outreach effort and provides the voter lists, registrar information, campaign instructions, and approved script. The Center for Common Ground is a nonpartisan, Black- and women-led voting-rights organization whose Reclaim Our Vote campaign focuses on increasing voter participation among communities of color.

The script is a general get-out-the-vote message. It does not name, explain, or explicitly advocate for or against any candidate, political party, or ballot measure.

Williamsburg Unitarian Universalists generously funds the postcards and related materials. The League of Women Voters of the Williamsburg Area is helping recruit postcard writers and distribute supplies. The project aligns with the League’s mission of encouraging informed and active participation in government.
