The Virginia House of Delegates Commendation

The Virginia House of Delegates commended our league for its 50 years of service on March 3, 2014. House Resolution 146 was introduced by Williamsburg delegate Monty Mason. A fitting tribute at our half century mark! Click here. Monty was among our honored guests at the Anniversary Party April 8.

50th Birthday Party on April 8

Our official 50th Birthday Party was held on April 8, 2014 at the Williamsburg Community Building. Among the speakers were the Three Presidents: Elizabeth MacNamara, LWVUS; Anne Sterling, LWV of Virginia; and Meda Humphreys, LWV of Williamsburg.

Anniversary Year Kick-off

We started out the Fall, 2013 with a special showing on September 15 at the Williamsburg Library of "Not for Ourselves Alone," the Ken Burns documentary (shortened version) of the struggle for women's suffrage led by Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton.
